What We Build

Web3 Gaming That Actually Works

The Web3 games that succeeded did so because they were good games first, with blockchain mechanics that added genuine value rather than wrapping a weak product in token hype. Nine Pixels builds with that philosophy: gameplay first, on-chain mechanics where they genuinely improve the experience.

We handle the full stack. Unity or Unreal game client, smart contract development, wallet integration, marketplace infrastructure, and tokenomics design, under one roof.

🎮
Game First, Blockchain Second
We design the game as a game before we design the blockchain layer. The on-chain mechanics must serve the gameplay, not the other way around. This is how Web3 games retain players past week one.
💸
Sustainable Tokenomics
We design token economies with game economists, modelling supply, demand, sink mechanics, and reward schedules to create P2E systems that don’t hyperinflate and collapse within months of launch.
🔗
Audited Smart Contracts
Every smart contract we deploy goes through internal review and third-party audit before mainnet launch. Security is non-negotiable, we’ve seen too many projects lose player funds to preventable exploits.
📱
Web2-Friendly UX
We build Web3 games that non-crypto players can actually play, custodial wallets, email login, gasless transactions, and fiat on-ramps that remove the Web3 friction without removing the ownership benefits.

Why Nine Pixels

Why Studios Choose Us for WebGLs

Web3 game development requires both game expertise and blockchain expertise. We have both.

🎮
Game Developers, Not Just Web3 Devs

Most Web3 studios are blockchain-first. We’re game-first. Our Unity and Unreal expertise means the game client is built to the same quality standard as any non-blockchain title, the blockchain layer enhances it, not the other way around.

🔗
Audited Contracts, No Exceptions

We don’t deploy unaudited contracts. Every smart contract goes through internal review and third-party security audit before mainnet deployment. Player funds and NFT ownership are not areas where we cut corners.

💰
Sustainable Economy Design

We’ve seen the P2E collapse cycle. We model token economies before we build them, stress-testing reward rates, inflation schedules, and sink mechanics to create systems that last beyond the initial hype cycle.

📱
Web2 Player Accessibility

We build Web3 games that don’t require a crypto wallet to play. Custodial wallets, social login, gasless transactions, and fiat on-ramps bring the benefits of blockchain to players who’ve never heard of MetaMask.

Our Process

How We Deliver WebGLs

A five-step process that puts game design before blockchain design.

🔍1
Game & Token Design

Game design document, tokenomics model, chain selection, and smart contract architecture designed together, before development begins.

🔗2
Smart Contract Dev

Solidity contracts written, tested on testnet, internally reviewed, and third-party audited before any mainnet deployment.

⚙️3
Game Client Production

Agile sprints in Unity or Unreal with wallet integration, on-chain reads, and token reward systems built in from the first sprint.

🧪4
Testnet & Economy QA

Full game QA plus economic simulation on testnet. We run bot scenarios to stress-test the token economy before real money is involved.

🚀5
Mainnet Launch

Mainnet deployment, NFT collection launch, marketplace activation, and post-launch monitoring across both game metrics and on-chain activity.

FAQ

Web3 & Blockchain FAQs

Common questions about Web3 game development.

Does our game actually need to be on the blockchain?+
Not everything needs to be on-chain, and putting too much on-chain creates performance and UX problems. The right approach is to put only what benefits from decentralisation on-chain: ownership records, token balances, and provably fair mechanics. Real-time game state, matchmaking, and most gameplay stays off-chain. We’ll advise on exactly what makes sense for your specific game concept.
Which blockchain should we build on?+
It depends on your priorities. Polygon and Immutable X are popular for gaming due to low fees and fast transactions. Ethereum gives you the largest NFT marketplace ecosystem. Solana has a strong gaming community and very low transaction costs. Ronin is purpose-built for games. We’ll recommend the right chain after understanding your game’s transaction volume, target audience, and marketplace requirements.
How do you make Web3 games accessible to non-crypto players?+
Through what’s called “Web3 abstraction”, hiding the blockchain complexity behind familiar UX patterns. Custodial wallets (players sign in with email, we manage the wallet), gasless transactions (the game pays the gas fee, not the player), fiat on-ramps (buy with credit card, not crypto), and account abstraction all make it possible to play without ever knowing there’s a blockchain underneath.
What makes a P2E economy sustainable?+
The fundamental challenge is that P2E creates more token sellers than buyers. Sustainable P2E economies need strong sink mechanics (ways to remove tokens from circulation), a player base that includes people who play for fun (not just for income), and reward rates calibrated to the real value the game creates rather than speculative token price. We model these dynamics before development begins and refuse to ship economies we believe are structurally unsustainable.
Do your smart contracts get audited?+
Yes, always. Every smart contract we deploy to mainnet goes through internal review followed by a third-party security audit. We work with established audit firms and factor audit time and cost into project timelines and budgets from the start. We will not deploy unaudited contracts that hold real player value, the reputational and financial risk is too high for both parties.
Can you build a custom NFT marketplace for our game?+
Yes. Custom in-game marketplaces give you control over fees, UX, and the player experience that third-party marketplaces like OpenSea don’t provide. We build trading interfaces with listing, bidding, offer systems, royalty distribution, and transaction history, integrated into the game client or as a standalone web application. We can also integrate with existing marketplaces if preferred.
How long does it take to build a Web3 game?+
A Web3 game takes longer than a comparable non-blockchain game due to smart contract development, audit cycles, and the additional infrastructure required. A focused Web3 mobile game with NFT items and a token economy typically takes 6–12 months from concept to mainnet launch. We build in testnet phases and economic simulations that add time upfront but prevent costly problems post-launch.
Can you add Web3 features to an existing game?+
Yes, retrofitting Web3 into an existing game is possible but requires careful planning. We assess your current architecture, identify what needs to change for wallet integration and on-chain asset support, and design the minimum viable blockchain layer that adds value without disrupting your existing player base. In some cases, a soft launch of Web3 features to a subset of players is the right approach.
