When should we start thinking about live ops?+
Ideally during development, not after launch. Live ops infrastructure, analytics instrumentation, remote config, content update pipelines, should be built into the game from the start. We can audit an existing game and retrofit these systems, but it’s faster and cheaper when planned upfront. We include live ops readiness in all our development projects.
Can you take over live ops for a game already in production?+
Yes, this is one of our most common engagements. We review your current analytics setup, content pipeline, and monetisation performance, then take over operations on a retainer basis. The transition is typically smooth within 2–3 weeks as we learn your game’s data patterns.
How do you measure success in live ops?+
We track D1, D7, D30 retention, DAU/MAU ratio, ARPDAU, ARPU, session length, and ad revenue metrics. At the start of an engagement we agree on the primary KPIs for your game and report against them every sprint. All reporting is transparent, you see the same dashboards we do.
How quickly can we run an A/B test?+
A well-instrumented game can have an A/B test designed, set up, and running within a single two-week sprint. Results depend on traffic volume, for games with healthy DAU, most tests reach statistical significance within 2–4 weeks. We design tests with clear success criteria and minimum detectable effect sizes upfront.
What does a battle pass implementation involve?+
A full battle pass includes track design (reward tiers, pacing, visual progression), premium tier pricing, season duration and reset logic, backend infrastructure for progress tracking, and the UI/UX to display it. We handle all of this as a fixed-scope feature and include post-launch analytics to measure conversion from free to premium tier.
Do you manage ad networks directly?+
Yes. We configure and manage mediation stacks using AppLovin MAX, IronSource, AdMob, and Meta Audience Network. We optimise floor prices, waterfall order, and ad placement timing to maximise eCPM without hurting retention metrics. Yield optimisation is an ongoing activity, not a one-time setup.
How much does live ops management cost?+
Live ops retainers typically start from £3,500/month for a light-touch engagement (analytics review, one seasonal event per quarter, ad yield management). Full live ops management with continuous content delivery, A/B testing, and CRM campaigns typically runs £8,000–£15,000/month depending on game complexity and sprint velocity.
Can you help with UA (user acquisition) as well?+
We don’t run paid UA campaigns directly, but we work closely with UA teams and agencies so your live ops work supports your UA economics, making sure LTV measurements feed into your bid strategy, and that early retention hooks are in place before major UA spend begins.
