Can you handle the full project or just part of it?+
Both. We work on full-cycle projects from concept through launch, and we also take on specific scopes, a port, a QA cycle, an art production batch, or a single feature. Tell us what you need and we’ll scope appropriately.
Do you work with studios outside the UK?+
Yes. We’ve worked with studios across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. For any engagement requiring real-time collaboration, we agree time zone overlap as part of the brief. Remote-first since founding.
What’s your minimum project size?+
For fixed price projects, our minimum is typically £8,000. For staff augmentation there’s no minimum, we can place a developer for a single sprint. For dedicated teams, we ask for at least a 4-week initial commitment.
How quickly can you start?+
Staff augmentation developers can start within 72 hours. Fixed price projects typically begin within 1–2 weeks of contract signing (after discovery). Dedicated teams are assembled and onboarded within 2–3 weeks.
Which game engines does Nine Pixels specialise in?+
Our primary expertise is Unity and Unreal Engine 5. We handle full-cycle Unity and Unreal projects including mobile, PC, console, and cross-platform ports. We also build HTML5 and WebGL games using Phaser and native JavaScript, and develop mobile apps in Flutter and React Native.
Do you offer post-launch support and live ops?+
Yes. Our live ops and post-launch support service covers content updates, A/B testing, monetisation optimisation, performance patches, and crash fixing. We work on retainer or milestone basis and can take over support for a game originally built by another studio.
Can Nine Pixels provide 2D and 3D art separately from development?+
Absolutely. Our art production team operates independently from engineering. We take on standalone 2D art and animation briefs, 3D character and environment modelling, UI/UX design, concept art, and complete visual identity work for games at any stage of development.
How do you price a project?+
We offer three commercial models: fixed price (defined scope, fixed cost), dedicated team (monthly rate per developer), and staff augmentation (individual developers embedded in your team). We’ll recommend the right model after a brief discovery call to understand your project and timeline.
